Information We Collect
Most FunXTools tools can be used without creating an account or providing any personal information. We collect information in the following situations: (1) if you create an account, we store your name, email address, and a securely hashed password, or, if you sign in with Google, Facebook, GitHub, or Discord, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from that provider; (2) if you submit our contact form, we collect your name, email address, and message; (3) if you use a tool that requires a file upload (such as an image converter or compressor), we temporarily process that file to deliver your result; and (4) we automatically collect general usage data (such as pages visited and approximate location) via Google Analytics.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to operate and improve FunXTools, including: providing the tool or feature you requested, maintaining your account and preferences (such as favorites and recently used tools), responding to contact form messages and bug reports, and understanding overall usage trends so we can improve our tools. We do not sell your personal information to anyone.
Files and Uploads
When you use a tool that processes a file or image (for example, our image compressor, converter, cropper, pixelator, or image-to-PDF tools), the file is uploaded to our server only long enough to generate your result. Output files are deleted automatically once they are downloaded, and any temporary files left on our server are periodically cleaned up. We do not review, use, or share the contents of files you upload for any purpose other than producing your requested result. Audio files generated by our text-to-speech tool are stored in a private cloud storage bucket solely to make the generated file available for download.
Cookies and Analytics
FunXTools uses essential cookies to keep you signed in and to protect forms from cross-site request forgery. We also use Google Analytics, which sets cookies to help us understand how visitors use our site in aggregate. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though some features (such as staying signed in) may not work correctly without them.
Third-Party Services
We rely on the following third-party services, each governed by its own privacy policy: Google, Facebook, GitHub, and Discord (for optional social sign-in), Google Analytics (for anonymized usage statistics), Google reCAPTCHA (to prevent spam on our forms), and a cloud storage provider (to host generated audio files for our text-to-speech tool). We only share the minimum information necessary for each service to function.
Data Security
We take reasonable technical measures to protect your information, including encrypted password storage and secure connections (HTTPS) across the site. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children's Privacy
FunXTools is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.
Your Rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information at any time by contacting us. If you signed up with an account, you can also delete your account data by reaching out through our contact page.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal reasons. We will post the updated policy on this page, so we encourage you to review it periodically.
